  • What is the Legacy Reentry Foundation?
    The Legacy Reentry Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals transitioning from incarceration back into society. Founded by George and ReGina Moore, the foundation offers resources such as life skills training, job preparation, financial literacy, trauma care, and youth development to empower returning citizens. ​
  • Do you help with legal assistance or expungement?
    While we focus on reentry support services, we can provide referrals to trusted legal assistance programs to help with expungement and other legal matters.
  • Where is Legacy Reentry Foundation located?
    We are located at 420 W. Clayton St., Waukegan, IL 60085. ​ We are directly across the street from the Waukegan Police Department parking lot.
  • What support do you provide for housing and reentry planning?
    Unfortunately, we cannot assist individuals in accessing housing resources at this time.
  • What programs do you offer for formerly incarcerated individuals?
    We offer a range of programs tailored to support formerly incarcerated individuals, including:​ Reentry Support Programs: Personalized assistance with job readiness training, life skills development, and second-chance employment opportunities. Educational Resources: Support for GED completion, vocational training, and workshops focused on personal growth and financial literacy. Mentorship Programs: One-on-one mentorship through initiatives like the L.A.M.P. Program and KING IN ME, focusing on personal and professional growth. ​ Community Integration Programs: Assistance with reconnecting with family, accessing housing resources, and engaging in volunteer opportunities.
  • Do you offer mental health or counseling services?
    Yes, we provide mentor-based counseling, including individual and group sessions led by experienced mentors, as well as support groups and addiction recovery support.
  • Do you provide job placement assistance?
    Yes, we connect participants with job training, resume building, and placement services to help secure stable and meaningful employment
  • Are your programs available to people on probation or parole?
    Yes, individuals on probation or parole are eligible to participate in our programs. We aim to support all justice-impacted individuals in their reintegration journey.​
  • Can family members of justice-impacted individuals receive support?
    Yes, we offer resources and support for family members to help them navigate the challenges associated with their loved one's reentry process.​
  • Who qualifies for your programs?
    Our programs are designed to support justice-impacted individuals, including those transitioning from incarceration and others seeking a second chance. Specific eligibility criteria may vary by program.​
  • Do I have to pay for services?
    Many of our services are offered free of charge, thanks to the generous support of our donors and partners. Please contact us for more information on specific programs.​
